La entrada de hoy será muy corta y es que hoy estoy aquí para enseñarles algunas de las fotos que hice hoy en Braintree, la ciudad donde teníamos las clases el curso pasado.
Esta tarde salimos con la intención de dar una vuelta por las tiendas en el centro de la ciudad y en el outlet Freeport Braintree que está a las afueras (ya les he hablado de este outlet en las primeras entradas cuando vinimos a Inglaterra) pero además nos encontramos con varios puestos navideños y algunas luces de Navidad ¡me encanta la Navidad aquí!
Today's post will be really short because I only want to show you some pictures which were took by me in Braintree, the city where we used to have lessons.
This afternoon we went shopping in the city center and in the outlet "Freeport Braintree" which is in the outskirts (I have already told you about this place in the first posts when we came to England) but we also saw some Christmas' stands and lights, I love Christmas in England!

Por último comentarles algo que me llamó muchísimo la atención. En uno de los pasillos había un árbol de Navidad gigante con varias etiquetas donde ponían un nombre y una edad en cada una de ellas, y era para que las personas que quisiesen solidarizarse compraran un regalo a una persona reflejada en la etiqueta y lo llevaran a la oficina central del outlet. Imagino que serían para personas en situación de pobreza. Me encantó la idea porque es algo original, no como las típicas recogidas de comidas y juguetes que podemos ver en España.
Finally I want to tell you about something which grabbed my attention. In one of the corridors there was a big Christmas tree with some tags where you can read a name and an age. The reason for that is that the people can buy a present for a tag and they will have to give the present and the tag to the Tourist Information Centre placed in the outlet. I think that these people are poor and they can't buy any present for Christmas. I really liked that idea because is original, not like the usual food and toys collecting which we can see in Spain.
Hola! Hoy estoy aquí para hablarles de un evento que suele celebrarse todos los años sobre estas fechas, el "BBC Children in Need". Si vives en Inglaterra quizás te suene haber visto el oso de la imagen por ahí, su nombre es "Pudsey Bear" y es la mascota de este evento (de hecho a mí me sonaba del año pasado, pero nunca me entró la curiosidad de saber qué era hasta ahora, que he vuelto a verlo por ahí).
Hi! Today I am here to talk you about an event which is usually celebrated every November around these days, "BBC Children in Need". If you live in England, maybe that bear rings a bell to you, its name is "Pudney Bear" and is the mascot of this event (actually when I saw this bear this year I remembered it from last year, but I didn't know its meaning, until now that I looked for it).
El "BBC Children in Need" es una ONG inglesa patrocinada por la cadena televisiva BBC que tiene el fin de recaudar dinero para ayudar a niños y jóvenes ingleses con alguna discapacidad y lleva en funcionamiento desde 1927.
Como ya he dicho el evento más importante de esta ONG se celebra cada mes de Noviembre con una maratón televisiva que dura 6 horas y media, desde las 19.30 hasta las 02.00 de la noche. Esta maratón empezó en el año 1980 (hasta entonces habían sido emisiones pequeñas en la tele y en la radio) y desde entonces ha conseguido recaudar más de 600 millones de libras (unos 750 millones de euros).
En esta maratón televisiva hay actuaciones de cantantes famosos, bailes, musicales hechos por personajes famosos..., también puedes ver algunas de las historias reales de estos niños. Por aquí les dejo algunos de los vídeos del evento de este año:
"BBC Children in Need" is the BBC's UK charity and the aim is raising funds for disabled children and young people in the UK and it has been working since 1927.
As I has already told you the most important event of this charity takes place every November with a telethon which lasts 6 hours and a half, from 07.30 pm to 02.00 am. This telethon started in 1980 (until then only there were small broadcasts in the radio and TV) and since them they have achieved to raise over £600 million (750 million of euros).
In this telethon there are some famous singers' performances, dancing, musical with famous people..., and also they tell you some disabled children's stories. Here you have some videos of this event in the current year:

Sé que muchos piensan que es horrible esto de que la Navidad empiece cada año antes y estoy de acuerdo con ustedes salvo en un detalle, no cuando puedo vivirla en Londres =) Y es que ya el año pasado les comenté que a mí la Navidad ni fú ni fá... pero aquí en Inglaterra es todo taaaaannn bonito que la Navidad me encanta.
Estos comentarios vienen a que ayer fuimos a Londres para ir cogiendo ideas para los regalos de Navidad (que sí, que podríamos haberlo hecho cerca de donde vivimos, pero hay que admitir que no hay nada más original que las cosas de Camden Market, los juguetes de Hamleys...). Así que ayer nuestro destino fue Londres y la verdad es que no tenía pensado hacer una entrada sobre esta visita pues no íbamos de turismo, sino de compras, pero claro... llegas a Londres, empieza a anochecer y de repente ves las luces de Navidad encendidas, las tiendas decoradas, impresionantes escaparates... ¡es irresistible no sacar ninguna foto!

I know that most of you think that the early arrival of the Christmas time is horrible and I agree with you, but with one exception, I don't hate it when I can live the Christmas in London =). Last year I already told you that I don't like too much the Christmas...but here in England everything is so beautiful that I love it!
I am telling you this because yesterday we went to London to buy some Christmas presents (I know that we can buy them near to our village, but you can't deny that there isn't anything more original than things from Camden Market, the toys of Hamleys...). So yesterday our destiny was London and I didn't mean to write a post about it because we were going to London to buy, not for sightseeing, but when you arrive to London, the sunset starts and suddenly you see the Christmas lights, the decorated shops and the amazing showcases....it's impossible not take any picture!
