Es increíble lo rápido que pasa el tiempo, ya llevamos aquí un año y cuatro meses y parece que fue ayer cuando vinimos. Y ya no es sólo disfrutar de esta experiencia sino empezar a pensar qué vamos a hacer después, el papeleo debemos prepararlo desde ya para, por lo menos (si tenemos suerte), intentar trabajar de lo nuestro (ya que el registro en el Colegio Farmacéuticos de aquí dura como mínimo 3 meses y una situación similar le ocurre a Mikel para obtener un certificado llamado QTS para trabajar aquí como maestro). Así que las últimas semanas de este mes han sido una locura aclarándonos con los papeles que debemos conseguir cuando vayamos a casa por Navidad.
Por otra parte este mes ha sido un mes con fechas importantes para los ingleses, como ya les comenté el 31 de octubre fue Halloween y aunque aquí no lo celebran tanto como los americanos, si que pudimos vivirlo de forma diferente en el parque de atracciones como ya les comenté en "esta entrada",
Otro día importante fue el Remembrance Day, el 11 de Noviembre. No sé si recuerdan que hace un año les hablé de este día, donde aparecen broches de amapolas rojas por todos lados, "aquí" pueden recordarlo. Pues este año fue más de lo mismo pero, además, como fue el centésimo aniversario del comienzo de la I Guerra Mundial en la Torre de Londres pusieron tantas figuras de amapolas como soldados caídos. Nosotros no fuimos porque no nos llamaba mucho la atención ya que las colas eran inmensas, pero por aquí les dejo una foto que he conseguido de Internet.
It's amazing how the time is passing so fast, we have been here for one year and four months and it seems like it was only yesterday, and we have to start thinking what we are going to do later and also we need to do the paperwork now if we want to work in our career when we finish working as au pair couple (the paperwork for the General Pharmaceutical Council last at least 3 months and it happens the same with Mikel, he needs the QTS to work as a teacher in the UK).
By the way this month was very important for the English people. As I already told you on 31st October it was Halloween but in America is more important than here, although we could enjoy a different Halloween in the amusement park (you can read more in "this post").
Another important day was the Remembrance Day, on 11 November. I don't know if you can remember that I have already told you about this day in "this post". This year it was the same, but it was also the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the WWI, so they put lots of ceramic flowers around the Tower of London, there were as many ceramic flowers as death soldiers. We didn't go because it wasn't so interesting for us, furthermore the queues were really long! Here you have a picture from Internet.

Pero para mí lo más impresionante de este día fue que cuando estaba haciendo los deberes en casa, de repente oigo un sonido muy fuerte encima de nuestra casa y era una avioneta haciendo acrobacias ¡ahí mismo, delante de la puerta de casa! Más tarde me enteré de que los vecinos habían hecho una fiesta por este día tan especial para los ingleses y que habían alquilado a un piloto acrobático O_o
Although the most amazing thing was when I was doing my homework at home and suddenly I heard a strong noise near our home and it was a small plane doing stunts. It was there, just in front of our house! Later my HM told me that the neighbour celebrated a party due to this special day and they booked an acrobatic pilot O_o
Respecto a mi HK, este mes ha sido uno de los mejores que he tenido con ella, se ha comportado súper bien conmigo, aunque también creo que pueda ser porque ahora le ha entrado un miedo terrible por la oscuridad (por culpa de sus compañeros que le meten miedo), así que eso puede influir porque con tal de no subir o bajar sola quiere hacerlo conmigo y hace las cosas rápido para que no me dé tiempo a irme jajaja.
Su cumpleaños fue durante este mes y, al igual que el año pasado tuvo un montón de regalos. Aquí les dejo algunas fotos de los regalos que le hicimos y de cómo se encontró la cocina cuando llegó del colegio.
Regarding to my HK, this month has been one of the best that I have spent with her. She has been a good girl but I think that it's because now she is really scared of the darkness (by the fault of her classmates), so that can have an influence due to she doesn´t want to go upstairs or downstairs by herself and she does everything quickly so I don´t have time to leave before she finishes haha.
Her birthday was this month and she had a lot of presents like last year. Here you have some pictures of the presents and how the kitchen was when she arrived from school.

Y como siempre ocurre en este mundillo hay au pairs que se van, otras que vienen... este mes ha sido el turno de Ainhoa y Jule que se vuelven para sus casas. Y este mes ya hemos conocido a dos españolas, Vicky, que es au pair, y a Yvonne, que trabaja como asistente de profesor en el colegio de mi HK.
Lo más curioso es que Yvonne es de Gran Canaria también, y no sólo eso, sino que ¡vivimos en la misma ciudad a unos 5-10 minutos de distancia! Encontrarte algo así en Londres no sorprende mucho con la cantidad de españoles que hay, pero aquí, en medio de la nada sí que impacta jajaja. Además se agradece eso de decir "guagua", "chacho"... sin que te miren raro y el escuchar nuestro acento a tantos kilómetros de distancia ^^.
Lo más curioso es que Yvonne es de Gran Canaria también, y no sólo eso, sino que ¡vivimos en la misma ciudad a unos 5-10 minutos de distancia! Encontrarte algo así en Londres no sorprende mucho con la cantidad de españoles que hay, pero aquí, en medio de la nada sí que impacta jajaja. Además se agradece eso de decir "guagua", "chacho"... sin que te miren raro y el escuchar nuestro acento a tantos kilómetros de distancia ^^.
Durante este mes hemos quedado en el Wetherspoon en Braintree (es el pub barato del que siempre les hablo), hemos hecho una quedada en nuestra casa y cada uno se trajo algo de comer para compartir y después estuvimos jugando a una app de adivinar que se llama "Heads up!" (¡cómo nos reímos!), otro día quedamos y pedimos Domino's, también hemos ido a Londres y a las ciudades cercanas de compras navideñas...
As often it happens in the au pairs' world some au pairs leave and others come... This month Ainhoa and Jule left and we have met two Spanish girls, Vicky, who is an au pair, and Yvonne, who is an Assistant Teacher in the same school of my HK.
The most curious thing is that Yvonne is also from Gran Canaria but not only that, we live in the same city about 5-10 minutes away one from each other! Happening something like that in London it's not very surprising because there are lots of Spanish, but here, in the countryside it's amazing! hahaha. Furthermore, I appreciate be able to say some Canary words like "guagua" or "chacho" without being stared by the other Spanish people and listening our accent so far away from home ^^.

Por lo que ha sido un mes completo, en cambio Diciembre tendrá que ser más tranquilo para poder ahorrar para las vacaciones =) Eso sí, un finde iremos a Londres a ver el mercado navideño Winter Wonderland, del cual ya les hablé el año pasado en "esta entrada", y este año sí que patinaremos sobre hielo, esta vez no nos pasará lo mismo que el año pasado ¡porque ya hemos comprado las entradas!
Para acabar les quería comentar que durante este mes la hora del amanecer es sobre las 7.40 y la de anochecer a las 15.50. Así que los días que me echo siesta antes de empezar a trabajar entro a las 16.30 cuando ya es totalmente de noche xD. Pero diciembre es el mes en que menos horas de luz hay, ya a partir de Enero iremos volviendo poquito a poco a la normalidad.
So it has been a busy month, however, in December we have to be calmer because we need to save money for the holidays =) Although we will go to London to see the Christmas market, Winter Wonderland, about which I told you in "this post", and this year we will do ice skating. This time it won´t happen the same that last year, because we have already booked the tickets!
Finally, I wanted to tell you that in November the sunrise time was at 7.40 and the sunset time at 15.50 so the days that I have taken a nap before starting to work it was completely dark at 16.30 xD. Although December is the month with the least sun time, and in January we will be slowly coming back to normal.

Y como ya habéis visto en la entrada "Helada en Noviembre" ya empieza a hacer frío, de hecho tengo las manos fatal del frío, por lo que me paso todo el día echándome crema (el año pasado me pasó lo mismo y no tenía ni idea de que era por el frío porque nunca antes había vivido algo así, ahora ya sé la razón xD). ¡La buena noticia es que ya sólo me quedan 24 días para volver a casa por Navidad!
Ya mañana es diciembre y nuestra HM nos ha comprado un calendario de adviento para cada uno, este año ha tocado de Maltesers y Mars ¿por qué no existirán estos calendarios tan molones en España? xD No ha habido ningún año que no tenga un calendario de adviento, así que ya saben, ¡mañana toca empezarlo!
As you have already seen in the post "Frost in November", it´s starting to be really cold. Actually, I have my hands very bad because of the cold so I spend all the time providing cream to my hands (last year it happened the same but I didn´t have any idea that it was because of the cold, due to I had never experienced something like that, but now I know the reason xD). The good new is that it's only 24 days left to come back home for Christmas!
Tomorrow starts December and our HM has bought us an Advent Calendar for each one, this year it's Maltesers and Mars. Why don't we have these great calendars in Spain? xD It hasn´t been any year that I didn´t have an Advent Calendar... so remember, tomorrow it´s time to start it!
