When we started the English lessons this year I proposed to read an English book each week, the really thin ones that we used to read in High School and which are clasified in different levels, because in our college there is a big library and there are lots of books.

You will be asking yourself if I was capable of doing it (the proposal of speaking in English with Mikel didn't last more than one week) but I am very proud to say yes! This time I had the enough willpower to do it =). Although reading short and old books as "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", "20.000 Leagues Under the Sea", "Tess d'Urbeville"... is really tiring. So I was looking for normal books hopeless because I had already tried in the stores and when I tried to read one page I only understood 2 or 3 out of 10 words, but I was really amazed when I took one that looked like I would understand it. And I did!

So I have decided to make a book list of the normal books which are easy to read when you are studying for the CAE level because although I have already read seven books there are some of them which are really difficult.

"Me and Mr Darcy" was the first book I tried to read and I managed to do it. I had already seen in my HM's bedside table and it grabbed my attention because I love "Pride and Prejuice" and when I saw it in the library I didn´t have any doubt of taking it.

"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"; I don't think that I have to tell you anything about this book. Years ago I read the seven books, actually, I started to read the first one before it became famous and I always loved them. So I thought about reading all of them in English because the language is for young people, so if you have the CAE level you will be able to read it.

I read it easily but it was very hard to read because I knew the story, so I didn´t read the other ones in English.

"No Time for Goodbye", llegué a este libro por casualidad y me encantó.

"No Time for Goodbye", I found it by chance and I loved it. Lately I have realised that I have started to like these kind of stories about crime cases. This writer has writen three books more, you can read them separately and the language is really clear.

"Too Close To Home" and "Fear the Worst" are books from the same writer than the last one. When you usually read a book of a specific writer you will be able to read the following ones because the language is very similar.

"Noughts and Crosses" is the book that I am reading now and since the beginning has drawn me in. I also took other book of the same writer, so I will tell you about it when I'll read it.

Above, you have some easy books to read that I have found. I recommend you to have a translator or your mobile phone next to you to look for some words that you don't understand. I use a bookmarker which is also a translator, which was a present from my best friend and it has been really useful.

¿Y tú, lees libros en inglés?

And you, do you read books in English?
