Winter Wonderland

¡Aquí estoy de nuevo para contarles la siguiente parte de nuestro viaje a Londres! Como ya les había comentado empezamos el día yendo a los mercados de Brick Lane y Borough Market, para después dirigirnos hacia el mercado navideño de Hyde Park, Winter Wonderland. Eso sí, antes pasamos por  las calles de Regent Street, Carnaby Street y Oxford Street para ver las luces navideñas. En Oxford street era imposible caminar, de hecho como ya habíamos visto las luces en la anterior visita a Londres decidimos coger la guagua (bus) hasta Hyde Park porque había muchísima gente y tampoco queríamos llegar agotados a Hyde Park.

 

Here I am again to tell you the rest of our trip to London! As I have told you we started the day in the markets, Brick Lane and Borough Market, and later we went to the Christmas market in Hyde Park, Winter Wonderland. But before we were seeing the Christmas lights in Regent St, Carnaby St and Oxford St. In Oxford St it was impossible to walk! Actually we took the bus because we had already seen these lights in the last visit to London and we went straight to Hyde Park.

Una vez llegamos a Hyde Park estuvimos buscando la pista de patinaje sobre hielo ya que teníamos la reserva a las 17.15, pero había que estar allí 20 minutos antes. Se supone que habíamos ido con suficiente antelación, pero una vez allí estuvimos buscando la pista y no la encontrábamos, preguntábamos a los trabajadores y cada uno nos decía un lugar diferente. Al final llegamos 5 minutos más tarde, no sin antes habernos recorrido casi todo el parque, dando empujones sin querer a la gente y ya, por último, corriendo, porque cuando llegamos a la pista había que dar una grandísima vuelta para llegar hasta la entrada y el tiempo volaba.

Si tienes intención de ir a patinar mi recomendación es que compres las entradas con suficiente antelación, ya que el año pasado nosotros queríamos ir pero cuando miramos ya estaban agotadas. Y este año, que lo compramos con 20 días de antelación, ya estaban agotadas las entradas para el sábado, por eso fuimos un domingo. 

 

Once we arrived to Hyde Park, we were looking for the ice skating rink because we had the booking at 5.15 pm, but you have to be there 20 minutes earlier. It was supposed that we had enough time to arrive there, but we couldn't find the ice skating rink, we had to ask to the staff but each one told us a different way. So finally we arrive 5 minutes late, but before that we were in everywhere, pushing the people without intention and at the end we were running, because when we found the skating rink, the entrance was in the other side!

If you want to do ice skating there, I recommend you to buy the tickets in advance, because last year we couldn't do it because it was sold out. And this year, we bought it 20 days before and there weren't tickets for Saturday, that's the reason why we went on Sunday to London.

 

En total pagamos 32 libras, unos 40 euros (14,50 libras cada entrada más 3 libras de gastos de gestión). En este precio están incluido los patines, pero además deberás pagar 1 libra por cada bolso que dejes en consigna y si quieres comprar la foto que te hacen (no te dejan llevar cámara ni móviles en la pista) tienes que pagar 8 libras. 

¿Qué como nos fue? Teniendo en cuenta de que ninguno de los dos sabe patinar muy bien y mucho menos en hielo... nos fue bien jajaja. Al principio empezamos como todo el mundo, pegaditos al borde, pero poco a poco nos fuimos soltando. Eso sí, no me libré de caerme, aunque sólo fue una vez jajaja. La experiencia fue increíble, patinar en esa pista (de hielo de verdad y no como las que ponen en Gran Canaria), con las luces navideñas, con una chica cantando en el escenario central y patinando.... sin palabras, un momento de disfrute total.

 

We paid 32 pounds, about 40 euros (14,50 pounds each ticket plus 3 pounds of fees). In this price you have included the skates, but you must pay 1 pound per item in the locker, and if you want to buy the picture (you can't take your phone or camera with you) it's 8 pounds more.

How was the experience? If you consider that any of us knows how to do skating very well and it's worse on ice....it was great! hahahaha. First of all we started next to the fence, but little by little we started to enjoy it. Although I couldn't escape to fall down, but it was only once, so it's fine hahaha. The experience was amazing, doing skating on this ice rink (real ice, not like in the "ice" skating rinks in Gran Canaria), with the Christmas lights, with a woman singing on the central stage and enjoying to do ice skating.... I have not words to describe it, it was fantastic!
